Paroxysm of the Vaguely Nerdy

Hello, I'm a teenage girl that loves reading; even if it's the most detrimental thing to my social life ever. Long live reading!

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel (Percy Jackson & the Olympians)

The Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel - Rick Riordan, José Villarrubia, Attila Futaki, Robert Venditti I tried.... so, so hard to like this and I just couldn't. Percy seemed over rated to me and I was yawning so much that I couldn't possibly finish it. I was expecting a lot but it didn't deliver. I picked it up for a second time after a little while and I got the same results. It says on the back 'It's the new Harry Potter' but I find that very hard to believe.

The Gatekeepers #1: Raven's Gate

Raven's Gate - Anthony Horowitz This book wasn't too bad. It was recommended to me by my younger brother. I found Matt(hew?) A little annoying but nothing I couldn't forgive him for the one thing I found annoying about this series was the cliffhangers that went on and followed through in the next book. I suppose it was good tactics though as I read the rest of the series. I liked the plot and definitely an edge of your seat read.

Shadowland (The Mediator, Book 1)

Shadowland - Meg Cabot I found this book pretty bland on the whole. By the last few pages I yawned and thought that it was time to move on. It seemed promising from the blurb but disappointed. I think Cabot should stick to her Teen Angst stories as that's what shines through for me here.
